Only good for ONE longboard!
By Sam Archer
I've owned this rack for a few years now, in addition to other surf racks for my other cars and this one is my least favorite.
Pros:
1. Securely holds one longboard (mine is 9') with two fabric straps.
2. Pretty easy to install with the OEM honda crossbars (will not work with any other brand). Took around 10 minutes.
Cons:
1. Straps are so short that you can only hold one longboard. When I try to carry two longboards, I need to use my own straps.
I would recommend the Shockles ShockStrap [...]
2. The rack attachment is a "cradle" so must be readjusted for the width of any new board that you put on it. As is, I need to adjust if for when I bring my shortboard or funboard instead of my longboard. This is time consuming and needs tools.
3. You need to buy another set if you want to carry two boards side by side.
4. There is no padding on the straps which could dent your board if you cinch it tight.
BOTTOM LINE:
Decent rack if you only carry one longboard or two shortboards.
I would recommend you skip this rack and buy a few rack pads for the honda crossbars and get some aftermarket straps to tie down your boards. That way you have the flexibility to carry more boards of any size you want.

Honda Surfboard Attachment for the Element works as promised
By Lon Thompson
The Honda surfboard attachment for the Element works very well. I got it to secure a very wide stand up paddle board on the roof rack. The board rides solid as a rock. Note that the straps the came with it are nice quality, but too short to strap down such a large board or multiple boards.
